Dear Friends,
Thank you for joining us for our 10 Days to Pentecost prayer vigil! Every night, I'm deeply touched as hundreds join this call in an effort to repent on behalf of their state and/or nation
We've repented for our rebellion against God and moved into repentance for our lack of love for "our neighbor and ourselves."
Remember Matthew chapters 5-7, our Lord took the whole of the Law and encompassed it in His Sermon on the Mount. Then He simplified it further with this passage at the end of His ministry, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-39)
He gave us a precious guide that would enable us to be an house of prayer and a dwelling place for Him.
Tonight, we will continue our preparation for Pentecost by repenting of breaking the 7th Commandment, "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" Exodus 20:14. Jesus expounded on this in Matthew 5:27-28: "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: but I say unto you, that whosover looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Remember, the Lord looks at the heart and knows the inclination of the each man. The enemy often sets up the platform for us to stumble and fall. The loosening of morals within the fabric of our society has devastated the family unit. This is supported and encouraged by media, the judicial system, and society as a whole.
Even within the Church we see the "oneness" God designed for us in our help-mate no longer taught. (Genesis 2:20-24) How can we strive for oneness with our Lord and Savior if we cannot honor the oneness in our marriage? We are called to love, honor, obey, and be willing to die for one another. Paul teaches us this correlation--the precepts of marriage unveil within them an even greater revelation, the great mystery of Christ and His Bride. (Ephesians 5:21-33.) No wonder the enemy seeks to destroy this holy bond. Lord, forgive us for not honoring the gift of marriage, the vows we've taken, or the treasure found in the bond between a man and a woman.
I encourage you to read Matthew 5 along with the other passages mentioned above and ask the Lord to show you how you, your city, or your state have violated the Commandments of our Lord and join us tonight as we continue our repentance before God in our "10 Days to Pentecost."
Remember: you have God-given authority in your state and nation, our prayer is that we'd have someone from each state on the line who canto pray during this important period before Pentecost. Come and pray with us tonight!
We will open the line from 6-7 PM PST (worship music will begin at 5:45 PM) to come in and repent for your city, state and country.
You have God-given authority in your state, our prayer is that we'd have someone from each state on and able to pray during this important period before Pentecost. Come and pray with us tonight.
Our desire is to comfort the heart of God with our repentance and intercession and await His visitation as we head up to Pentecost.
See you tonight!
Blessings & love to you! Ricci Wilson
