Dear Friends,
These are perilous times in which we live. We are well aware of the challenges facing believers today, and it's our commission to prepare them for the days ahead. We often receive communications from believers, unsure of tomorrow, looking for answers on what tomorrow will bring them. We tell them all the same thing; pray!
Prayer is at the foundation of this ministry. Prayer changes things. Prayer brings freedom to the sinner. Prayer brings deliverance from bondage. Prayer reminds us that we cannot do this on our own, and we need our Lord and Savior to make it through this life. Prayer even brings liberty from the fear of tomorrow.
Prayer is what we do in our Joel's Army Prayer Cells (JA-PC), in our weekly corporate prayer calls, in our Joel's Army Rallies, and in the Gathering of the Eagles Conferences.
Years ago, the Lord gave Nita a vision; we were to train intercessors to be Prayer Shields. The Lord instructed her to call these Prayer Shields "Joel's Army Prayer Shields" or "JA Prayer Shields." We teach them how to stand in the gap on behalf of the cities, nations and even their continents. At the surface level, their efforts bring stabilization to the region in which they live. The hidden motives of the enemy are often brought to light, revealing the truth which gives birth to change in the Nation.
However, in the spirit-realm we see a different picture. The Prayer Shields pierce through the face of the earth, penetrating each layer clear down to the tectonic plates, then they anchor in deep. Once rooted in place, the prayers of these JA Shields will bring about stability when the shaking occurs. You see my friends, each time we intercede; we root ourselves further into His will and His desires for our Nation.
That is Joel's Army in a few paragraphs. It's not an easy work. In fact, it's just the opposite; it takes time, perseverance and determination to keep the intercessor from giving up when it gets tough on the battlefield. As intercessors, we shoulder the pressures so the nation can stand firm. Stability.
The World for Jesus Ministries provides plenty of opportunities to be among this elite group of Prayer Shields. The Lord, so faithful, brought those who can support us in varying languages. Chinese and Korean-speaking Prayer Cells are both available. We have corporate lines open for each group (see the schedule in the sidebar), and we are praying for the Lord to bring Spanish-speaking leaders to us as well.
Our Canadian JA Leadership is so faithful to support a national call for their Nation. As our neighboring country; I encourage those of you who live in Canada to join this group each Sunday. We also have the opportunity for localized JA Prayer Cells where intensive training can take place.
Our Nations need the stabilizing force Joel's Army brings. We need the preparations, we need the training, we need to learning to stand in the gap for the Nations now. Would you run a marathon today, without months of training? Of course not, doing so would completely wipe you out! The time for training is now. Do not allow the enemy to cause you to give into your fears and run. Instead, stand in the gap! Pray! Fight for your Nation, fight for your city, fight for your families!
We've all heard the saying: the family that prays together stays together. Why is that? Because our eyes remain fixed on Jesus, and if He is our focus, we will get rooted deeper into His will and His ways bringing forth stabilization the family needs. Why would it be any different for the Nation?
Rise to the call, my friends, be part of the stabilizing force driven by our Lord and become a Prayer Shield for your Nation. Fill out our brief application and become a member of Joel's Army! Your membership costs you an interview. Then, you'll receive a field kit with two of Nita's books and CDs series to aid you in your training. Finally, we'll work to connect you to like-minded intercessors in your area where you can flourish as a JA Prayer Shield!
Don't allow the fear of what you see around you to cause you to retreat. When sin abounds, let us pray! Rather, learn to understand and embrace the effectiveness of prayer for your Nation. Wherever you are, we can work to connect you to those who will stand in the gap with you and be part of bringing about stability to your region that it can stand in the midst of the shaking that is coming!

Session Two
Part A

May we experience true liberty in Jesus. Our God is good, if we only knew just how good. When you are in His presence, all of your cares just slip away because His presence is filled with His goodness and you know everything is going to be okay.
Do you want to walk with God? When you visualize that, what does it mean to you? Try and be very specific.
How can God talk to you if you do not pray? You are not going to know what His language sounds like if you do not spend time in prayer. To hear His voice, you have to know His ways. Walking with the Son of God means walking in the low places. It means being stripped of your ego. You are going to die a little and sometimes you are going to die a lot. He will deliberately lead you into the place where there is a stream of bitterness, a little thread of bitterness. He will always guide you this way. Why? He is trying to help you develop dependence on Him and selflessness. These two things work together. He is trying to break that ego and that pride. I have mentioned this before… how in one of the visitations that He gave me He came to me and yoked me shoulder-to-shoulder with Himself. My pride became non-existent. You do not understand or realize how much pride you have in your soul until the Lord takes it and there is nothing left. It will feel like you have fallen from the top of the Swiss Alps down into the valley. But the fall is so beautiful and wonderful because it is freeing. When pride is gone, self-protection is gone. Self-protection is a big problem. Wherever we are protecting ourselves from people, circumstances, or situations, we are also building walls against God. So often we see walking with Jesus as walking the high places of revelation and wonder, but consider the words of Paul:
1 Corinthians 4:11-13; 11 To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty; we are continually poorly dressed, and we are roughly treated, and wander homeless. 12 We work [for our living], working hard with our own hands. When we are reviled and verbally abused, we bless. When we are persecuted, we take it patiently and endure. 13 When we are slandered, we try to be conciliatory and answer softly. We have become like the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.
2 Corinthians 6:8-10; 8 amid glory and dishonor; by evil report and good report; branded as deceivers and yet [vindicated as] truthful; 9 as unknown [to the world], yet well-known [by God and His people]; as dying, yet we live; as punished, yet not killed; 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet bestowing riches on many; as having nothing, yet possessing all things.
2 Corinthians 11:24-31; 24 Five times I received from the Jews [e]thirty-nine lashes.25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift on the sea;26 many times on journeys, [exposed to] danger from rivers, danger from bandits, danger from my own countrymen, danger from the Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger on the sea, danger among those posing as believers; 27 in labor and hardship, often unable to sleep, in hunger and thirst, often [driven to] fasting [for lack of food], in cold and exposure [without adequate clothing]. 28 Besides those external things, there is the daily [inescapable] pressure of my concern for all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I do not feel [his] weakness? Who is made to sin, and I am not on fire [with sorrow and concern]?
30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that reveal my weakness [the things by which I am made weak in the eyes of my opponents]. 31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, He who is blessed and to be praised forevermore, knows that I am not lying.
What does it mean to walk with Jesus? It means to embark upon a path where the soul is at last reduced to become subservient to the spirit, so that what constantly feeds the strength of the soul is the spirit, not the flesh. That is why we must die daily, and since we will not do this on our own, it is He that must lead us in the paths of righteousness. Your flesh and soul are not righteous. To be led in the path of righteousness means that there must be a conversion; a transformation must take place. He must convert the converted and awaken the sleeping Church. He must awaken the spirit which is bound by the demands of the soul and the flesh and create a strong desire and demand within to rise above the demands of the soul. This is what it means to be led in the paths of righteousness. It is not going to be easy.
We always think that it is going to be much easier than it actually is. We are always going to think that way because our flesh will never lead us to the cross and neither will our soul. We can want Jesus so badly, but if it is up to our soul and flesh, we will see him hanging on the cross and start running in the opposite direction as far and as fast as we can go (longing for Jesus every step of the way). To walk with Him takes the strength of His Spirit and takes great faith. We start out on this walk with small faith, but our faith grows as we learn His ways and learn to trust Him in the difficult times.
To be continued next week…
In His Amazing Love,
Nita Johnson
