Subject: "Be Bold" Part C by Nita LaFond Johnson

This Week's Events:

Dear Friends,

Last week our CedarWood Pantry had the third largest attendance since we opened our doors. We praise the Lord for His continued provisions. Whether it is through food donations from local grocers or the items that WFJM purchases, the quality of food is always excellent. We do not purchase GMO products and strive to obtain organic foods whenever possible. Our goal each week is to provide protein in the form of chicken, beef, lamb, milk, eggs and cheese for every family. We also seek to provide a wide variety of produce to ensure proper vitamin and mineral absorption. We also have a wide variety of bread from hamburger buns to whole grain and gluten free varieties. We here at WFJM/CW are not interested in just helping families survive. Our goal is to provide nutritious foods that will allow people to live healthy lifestyles.

The Lord spoke to Nita when we began CedarWood – in essence - we were to strive to provide only the best for our CedarWood clients. Whether it is clothing that is cleaned and pressed or food that is top quality, those in need deserve the best we can provide. It’s about demonstrating the love and care of our Lord to each man, woman and child who come to us for a need. God sees them each as uniquely valuable and as His servants, we are to treat them as such.

The families who come to our CedarWood Pantry come because they are in need – food is expensive –and there are those who initially have a difficult time walking through the door. Their love for their children helps move them forward. The truth is, sometimes there is shame associated with needing help. At times, they fear they will be looked down upon because they’ve had to ask for help. However, as they go through each food station with their attendant filling their bags with delicious and nutritious food, something happens in their hearts, and it shows in their demeanor. They felt loved and cared for by our staff. As a result, the walls start to come down, and they get excited about seeing something their child loves to eat, but they haven’t been able to purchase in a while. They are relieved actually to have meat and potatoes to fix for dinner. A sense of true gratitude begins to flow because we met an important need, but even more than that, they were treated with respect throughout the process, and it touches them deeply.

Our clients have reported that they can feel the love that flows through the room and they look forward to coming back. Over time, they begin to open up and share prayer requests and praise reports. Our clients know that CedarWood offers them a place to come and have their needs met without judgment, and because of this, many have come to know Jesus as their Savior.

The rewards are great when you work with CedarWood. Whether you’re a volunteer, an employee, or someone who contributes to the work we are doing, it’s important that you know the significance of this work. Your efforts run deep my friends - past the mind, the stomach and into the soul of a man.

When the crisis comes this Fall, we here at WFJM/CW plan to be ready. We’re working right now to make sure we have what we need to continue to meet the needs of these families and more. If you’d like to contribute to this effort click here and scroll to the bottom of the page.

Thank you for standing with us!

Blessings & love,
Ricci

Be Bold

Part D

That is precisely what Abraham learned. Every time there was a deeper separation, there was a greater revelation. And now in this passage in Genesis 17, he was utterly singled out for one of the most special experiences and life anyone could ever want to have. Every time this guy turned around, the Lord showed up to tell him secrets and give him promises. Abraham walked around a tiny Israel, but before it was over, he was promised blessing to his seed in all the nations of the earth. The greater the separation, the greater the revelation.

Who cares if God promises my descendants the world, though, unless He gives me something of Himself that separates me from it? I want to know God. When He puts His finger on something, I have to bend and break no matter how difficult it is. I have to because I know that if I do not, then I cannot have the revelation that is on the other side. So we may talk out our little issues of controversy. I may explain to Him why what He is asking is not really what He wants me to do. I am sure you have never done that, right? Hang around with me, and you will. But in the end, He always gets what He wants because I know that if I do not give it to Him, it all stops right there.

The Lord said to Abraham, “Walk the length and the breadth of the land. I will give it to you and to your descendants.” (Genesis 13:17, 17:8) Whether or not Israel is occupied with my people, we own the land because it was given to us. The Gentiles can take it and keep making life miserable for us on the land, but the fact of the matter is that when the question is fully resolved, it is still going to belong to Israel because God gave it to Israel. Do you have that settled in your heart?

God has made us a promise, too. The same God who promised the land to Israel said that America has already been given to the Church. We have it; it is ours. The Word of the Lord is sure and true. I want you to know that no matter who sits in the president's throne, they do not own this nation. Whoever it is will be remarkably surprised when they see what God is going to do. America belongs to the Church. Say that out loud. Does that feel good? Does that feel true? I hope so because now you are accountable. God has already given it to the Church. We just need to possess it.

What did Israel have to do to obtain the inheritance promised to them? Could they just sit in Egypt and claim the land as though some day it was going to walk over to them? What did they have to do? They had to take their inheritance and occupy. The Church is not going to get America by doing nothing. If America belongs to the Church, the Church cannot sit in the pew and expect it to happen all by itself. We have to do what Abraham had to do. We have to let the separation take place. We have to let God circumcise us so that we have the spiritual authority to occupy what we have been given. It is not enough to say, “Well, I live in Washington.” That is not what occupying is about. It does not matter where you live in this country. It is about in whom you live. God wants the Church to occupy. He does not want the wicked to occupy.

There were requirements on Abraham. Abraham had to learn the lessons, and he had to grow up spiritually so that he could handle the occupation. He could have walked all over Israel and fought every tribe he came to, but what did he try to do? He tried his best always to remain a man of peace. He knew the occupation of the possession had nothing to do with war, but rather, obedience.

Occupying means separation. It means a prayer life. Because, my dear friends, you cannot be separated and circumcised the way you need to be if you do not have a prayer life. You have to have a life of significance in the Word, in the Spirit, and in God, and it all begins with a prayer life. The Lord once told me, “You cannot have holiness—which is the bottom line—without being a person of prayer.” So how do you like those apples? If you could occupy where you need to occupy, but you are not a person who is clothed in the holiness of God, you would not be worth much more than what we already have.

The occupation that is going to turn America into a God-fearing nation must happen through holiness, separation, prayer, and through a life based on the Word. These are critical. It will happen through righteousness, love, humility, and meekness. The list may seem exhausting, but it really is not because every bit of it comes out of the revelation of Jesus Christ. So ask God to awaken your heart to the circumcision He is looking to give you, and ask Him to give you the grace to apprehend it.

In His Love,
Nita Johnson
