From last week...
What I discovered, with the Lord; He never speaks between the lines. He tells you just like it is even if it’s not what you want to hear. People can say one thing with their mouth, and there is something else hidden in their heart and sometimes it can be severe, so the Lord just lets me hear their heart speak so that I know what their heart is saying, and then I can read between the lines. I’m hearing what He’s hearing. But the reason He lets me do that is because I don’t judge people. I don’t criticize them when I know that they cannot say what they truly mean even if it is bad; I don’t judge them. Since I don’t judge them, He lets me know the truth. What you want in this life is truth. Truth is what will heal you.

I love the politicians; talk about reading between the lines: I’m going to lower the taxes and give you more money to spend. And they never tell us that they’re going to raise the interest rates. Other promises: I’m going to bring our military home, and I’m going to do it as soon as I’ve become president! Five years later we are sending more military over to join those who we never brought home. What else? The economy is going to get better, in fact, things are going to get so my better you’re going to feel as though you’ve had a raise by just voting me into office! And then, things just get worse and worse, and they blame it all on the president before them because the current president is 'just trying to clean up his mess'. They say so many good things, and when someone above them questions it, they reply, “Oh, it’s just rhetoric,” and then they turn to us and say, “Now believe everything I am saying.”

We are so accustomed to living in a world where truth is relative. As a result, we don’t know how to deal with truth that isn’t relative. We don’t know how to handle truth available to heal and stabilize us, to change us so that we can become more like Him. We struggle to embrace truth that is given to cut to the core of our being like a surgical knife. If we get truth, we want it to be sugar coated with extra frosting, and then there's no need to stop and consider whether we've been scolded, corrected or admonished. Am I telling the truth?

The Holy Spirit wants to wound your heart with the truth. Embrace and be lovers of truth. We are accustomed to flattery; we want and demand it. Truth does not flatter—it pierces. It must pierce. What did He say? My Word is a double-edged sword, cutting asunder. When did cutting asunder feel like flattery? When did it feel like honey going down?

I remember what Jesus said after He healed the man whose son had epilepsy. The father pleaded, "Lord, deliver my son, heal my son!" The Lord ministered to the son, and then the disciples turned to Him and asked why they couldn’t deliver the boy. Everything the Lord said in this section of Scripture says: how long must I bear with you, how long? It doesn’t sound like sugar, nor was it designed to. He was trying to provoke them to arise in faith! Sometimes we need the scolding to accomplish that end. There are times when the Word scolds and corrects us like a surgical knife to the heart, but it comes from His love for us. He wants to help us over the fear, over the simple love, through the pride, and all the walls we put up to keep the truth out. We think He’s going to be very gentle—which He usually is— but sometimes, He must come in with a great force so that the truth can enter. Then, it can do something remarkable inside of us.

Follow grace and truth. He speaks His truth with much grace. The person who can eat of truth in its greater magnitudes is the one who learned to humble themselves to the truth so that much grace can enter enabling them to embrace the truth. When we are unrefined, there is much pride, anger, self-protection and this prevents us from being able to receive the truth we need for healing. I’m talking to you about a Kingdom pillar that can make you incredibly strong in the days ahead.

I don’t want to live in the politician mindset; I don’t want to sit there and smile when someone is lying to me. I don’t wish to pretend that I think they're telling the truth when they’re lying to me. I love it when I go to the Word, everything in it is the truth. It makes me feel stable, strong, and it comforts me. You can come here and find stability. It doesn’t matter what they’re saying or what the market is doing—it doesn’t matter if the serpent is after your life. When you love truth, this [Bible] becomes the rock upon which you stand; it becomes a shield and a buckler. When you love truth, it becomes the sword of the Lord against your enemy.

My dear brothers and sisters, God wants to wound you with His truth that He might heal you. Isn’t that what the scripture says? I wound that I may heal, I kill that I might make alive; this is His way, to wound you–to let the truth go into the depths of your soul where healing can occur. You don’t have to be under the bondage of deception. I love Him because He always tells me the truth; I don’t want Him to tell me He is pleased with me if He has an issue with me, I want Him to tell me so I can repent and move on. I love it that He always tells me the truth. Today it is so sad that even preachers aren’t always going to tell you the truth. Many preachers won’t tell you the truth because they don’t know it—they’re so far off balance they don’t even know the truth to be able to share it with you.

The Word is the one place you can go where you will always get the truth! When truth enters your soul, you’ve received the grafted Word; the Seed of the Kingdom. If you received the truth at any level, it goes into your soul and becomes like a brick. Then, the next truth goes in, sits beside that truth, and you’ve got two bricks. Followed by the next, and so on, until our soul is filled with the mortar of the Word and finally, filled with the strength of truth. So, instead of walking around unable to stand in the most troublesome times, truth has become such a force to us in our inner man that you can’t break it apart. Your inner man is built up by truth into a mighty edifice. The Bible says it will always give you the capacity to experience more of God; to learn more of Him and His kingdom. I love that truth always tells us more about God.

I don’t know about you, but I live to discover more of God. I want to know how He thinks, how He feels, how He perceives things. I want to know how He sees things. I want to know inside of His mind and heart. I want to be able to look into Him and see the revelation of the Kingdom of God. I want to look into the life of Christ and see the revelation of the Kingdom. I don't care so much about the revelations of the world, but I would love to know profound revelations of the Kingdom. We are called to walk as kings and priests and to speak like a king you’ve got to be ruling from the spiritual realm. You can’t do that with your toes stuck in the mud. Listen to me, I don’t know how to say it or tell you what’s going through my mind or heart right now—Lord, help me explain. You’ve heard the saying: muck and mire? Muck and Mire are like quicksand. When you step in quicksand you’re up to your ankles and as you try to get out, and you sink to your knees. You fight to escape, sinking further to your waist. You can’t get free from it, and you find yourself covered in mud and beginning to suffocate in the swampy mess you just stepped into - that is what the world is. You step into it and you think it’s safe, you think you can control its power over you, and you find yourself being sucked down deeper and deeper instead of getting freer. You squirm and wiggle around and only go deeper in the world, places you didn’t think you would—you didn’t think a little taste would lead you to the place where you are, but it's what the world does, isn’t it?

At long last the world will so contaminate your soul with its corruption that you will love that quicksand more than you will love truth. It’s a frightening thought to consider. You’re dying, you are suffocating, and can’t get out. You know that it is keeping you held down, away from God, but something in you loves it. It’s a lie: it’s a deception.

In that pool of quicksand is every kind of lie you can imagine and you’ve yet to experience them all. Something happens inside of you, you’re changing, and you’re starting to love what you should fear. But to those who cry out to God, He sends help, and He’ll pull you out of the quicksand. You stand there caked with mud and scared half out of your mind because you almost lost it. He is standing there saying: listen to Me, the truth you rejected is more beautiful than you're capable of imagining. It is worth more than its weight in gold. You cannot buy what you rejected; its value is just so great.

To be continued next week...

In His Amazing Love,
Nita Johnson
