September Whale Report - Orcas, Humpbacks & Minkes

Autumn whale watching is in full swing, and the Salish Sea is teeming with humpbacks, orcas, and minke whales!


With the change of seasons comes changes in whale watching departure times. Starting next week: our Seattle (Edmonds) tours will depart at 11:30am, Port Townsend tours at 12pm, and Port Angeles tours at 12:30 (with occasional tidal variations).

So far in September we've seen between our Edmonds, Port Townsend and Port Angeles locations:


BIGG'S ORCAS (T11A, T18s, T19s, T35As, T36As, T36Bs, T37As, T46As, T46Bs, T46B1s, T46Cs, T49As, T49C, T60s, T63, T65, T65As, T69s, T69E, T99s, T101s, T109As, T109A2s, T121As, T124Ds, T137s).


HUMPBACK WHALES (Aerie, Hammer, Hemlock, Pinnacle, 2019 calf of Claw, 2021 calf of Sirius, Two Spot, Vega, Honu, Meqe, Allusion, Hale-Bopp, Zillion, MMY0459, BCX2284, CRC21535, plus many unidentified adults and juveniles).
