| | | MARIJUANA BUSINESS CRACKDOWN! Why You Should Operate Legally.
500 People were recently charged with unlicensed commercial cannabis activity within the city of Los Angeles, with the potential sentencing of six months in jail and $1,000 in fines. This is due to the efforts local authorities are enforcing to try and level the playing field for the marijuana businesses that are legally permitted.
There are currently 165 approved cannabis storefronts and delivery businesses in Los Angeles and many more operating without the appropriate licenses. The crackdown reached all corners of the city, from South L.A. and Boyle Heights to communities in the San Fernando Valley and the Westside, officials said.
Local authorities will continue their efforts to enforce the removal of illegal businesses and continue raiding and charging those involved in illegal activities.
