Subject: Together Everyone Achieves More

Dear Friend

A man was driving through the countryside when he got lost. As he reached for a map, he accidentally veered off the road into a ditch. Thankfully, he wasn’t hurt, but his car was stuck deep in the mud. Seeking help, he walked to a nearby farm.

“Warwick can get you out of that ditch,” said the farmer, pointing to an old mule grazing in the field.

The man eyed the frail-looking animal, then glanced back at the farmer, who confidently repeated, “Yep, old Warwick can do the job.”

Figuring he had nothing to lose, the man agreed. Together, the two men and the mule went to the ditch. The farmer hitched Warwick to the car, snapped the reins, and shouted:

“Pull, Fred! Pull, Jack! Pull, Ted! Pull, Warwick!”

To the man’s astonishment, the old mule heaved and pulled the car out of the ditch.

Grateful and amazed, the man thanked the farmer and patted Warwick. Then he asked, “Why did you call out all those other names before Warwick?”

With a grin, the farmer replied, “Old Warwick is just about blind. But as long as he thinks he’s part of a team, he doesn’t mind pulling.”
