Subject: Don't Conclude for Others

Dear Friend

A little girl was holding two apples, one in each hand.

Her mum walked in, smiled warmly, and gently asked,

"My sweetie, could you give your mum one of your apples?"

The girl looked up at her mum, pausing for a moment. Then, suddenly, she took a quick bite of one apple—and immediately took a bite of the other.

Her mum’s smile froze. She tried her best to hide her disappointment.

Just then, the little girl held out one of the apples to her mum and said with a beaming smile,

"Mummy, here you go. This one is sweeter."

The mum was stunned, her heart melting at her daughter’s thoughtfulness.

No matter who you are, how much experience you have, or how knowledgeable you think you are, always pause before passing judgment.

Give others the chance to explain themselves. What you see may not tell the whole story.

Take your time. Don’t jump to conclusions.

Shalom.
