On the fourth day of Christmas, I’m taking 15 minutes to... |
|
Book in my 2015 Holiday
Our intentions for a real escape are often thwarted during the year by a galloping calendar packed with other choices and a bank balance that is committed elsewhere. If you’re feeling run-down at the end of this year, chances are you’re overdue for a proper break.
(We included this challenge in last year’s Mini Course, but can’t emphasise enough the benefit of regular time away. As a result of doing this task last Christmas, Emma’s family spent a week in Fiji in July and Audrey’s family spent ten days on the Gold Coast in September. Highlights of the year!)

| Get Into Action!
This is a three-step, 15-minute process: - Sit down with your diary (and your partner’s diary, if applicable) and block out a decent chunk of time next year. It doesn’t matter if you don’t yet know where you’ll go (that’s the fun part).
- Email your boss (and partner’s boss) NOW requesting leave for those dates.
- Phone your bank NOW or use internet banking if possible (it will only take a few minutes) and open a holiday account. You may also like to arrange over the phone to have a certain amount direct-credited into the account weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Resist Temptation
No over-thinking! No - ‘I’ll do this later.” Putting this challenge off is how we wind up in a few months’ time with “I desperately need a holiday!!” circling on continuous loop in our minds... Schedule the time, ask for leave, phone the bank. DONE!

What's Coming Up:
Come back tomorrow for a 15-minute challenge in the area of ‘personal growth’! |
|

“Every person needs to take one day away. A day in which one consciously separates the past from the future. Jobs, family, employers, and friends can exist one day without any one of us, and if our egos permit us to confess, they could exist eternally in our absence. Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."
