Subject: Winning at life – it's trickier than sports

And with an entirely different scoreboard

I talk a lot about becoming a winner in life. It's not easy. Matter of fact, it's often way harder than becoming a winner on the ballfield.

Some ideas that are helpful…

  • Isolate yourself and your family from the whiners, complainers, and troublemakers. (If you are one of those people—knock it off. Immediately.)

  • Respond to the people in need. As quickly as possible. Offer support. Let them know you care.

  • Solve problems before others find out they exist.

  • Failure is when we are allowed the best opportunity to learn. Never waste a good mistake.

  • Feelings are two things: either the result of action or the cause for action.

  • Create a standard. Never lower it. Consistently raise the bar. The standard is above your feelings.

Our clients are the ones who take action. Swift action.

We work with folks in small group settings and in our one-to-one coaching sessions.

With New Year's on the horizon, many of our peers are going to try once again to make their "resolutions."

Good for them, but for us it's time to start making some changes that matter.

Remember, losers make promises.

Winners make commitments.

As always,

Brian
