Subject: Why don't sumos go carnivore?

Beef doesn't make you beefy

Last week, for one of my programs, we ran a promotion for Tea Burn, a proven supplement in the weight loss game. All you have to do is mix it in some regular ol’ tea and Tea Burn gets to work.

In fact, I have a nice hot cuppa green tea to my right as I type this.

The point is, I decided to promote this product because my son told me I looked like a "sumo wrestler." Perception breeds reality in some respects.

(I can get you the link if you want…)

It’s true…I may have a few extra around the middle. I’ve been munching on pantry items a little more than usual.

I get way more benefit out of real food, however. I feel better, work better, all that stuff.

So, I’m making it a point to eat more beef. I like the “jailhouse” cuts more than the average beef-eater, I’d imagine.

As the “carnivores” among us have demonstrated, more beef in your diet does not mean that you will become “beefy.”

I’ve found a way to cook chuck steaks and chuck roasts that blow most “traditional cuts” out of the water. (Maybe more on that later in the week).

Beef brisket is a “jailhouse cut,” but one that most folks tend to enjoy … because of how it’s cooked.

I like to mix in a little pork sausage as well, particularly in the form of Sausage Slammers from Southside Market & Barbecue.

Remember last week when I said I’m going to get back into YouTube? Well, I haven’t yet, but I did make some videos last summer that turned some heads…the cooking and eating of those Slammers.

Check out the videos. Plenty of links to Southside Market on that page as well.

Texas pit-roasted meats delivered to your front door.

Remember, it’s “dads & grads” season as well.

Writing as a dad myself, a batch of Southside meats on Father’s Day might be a nice thing to feast on while watching the U.S. Open come to its typical dramatic conclusion.

As always,

Brian
