Subject: The secret is that there are no secrets

just passion and persistance

Tiger Woods was on the Today show with Carson Daly earlier this week. These two fellows grew up playing in many of the same junior golf tournaments in and around southern California, so they've known each other for 30+ years at this point.

Carson brought up a story about how they had just finished a tournament in Nevada and it was hotter than blazes, so all the other golfers went inside to drink lemonade or something like that, laughing at how crazy the one guy was who was hitting shots in the "190 degree heat" with his father.

Tiger and his father Earl.

"Why wouldn't you?" Tiger asked Carson.

Daly had no answer. Sheepish laughter.

Tiger has 15 major championships to Carson's lack of pro golf experience.

The practice paid off. More importantly, the persistence.

Listen, I don't get many things about Tiger Woods and his bizarre if not self-destructive personal life, but I do watch golf when he plays. His perseverance and passion for the sport of golf are the key to his success.

There's nothing like the energy on the course when Tiger is out there and it took a lot of that training as a child to get him there, but you don't have to be a circus freak kid making the rounds on all the talk shows as a toddler to have monumental success.

Pick a passion and persevere. Let nothing stop you. The story of Tiger's (early) career.

Passion and persistence is the key to getting what you want in life.

Problem is, most of us can't figure out our real passion and so we get stuck, never to persevere because we may have some crappy job or got stuck in a place where we never wanted to be in the first place.

I cannot do anything golfwise to help you (except as good company in your next foursome), but I can help you to figure out your passion.

Perseverance? That's up to you entirely, but mindset training and mental skills work have been a passion of ours for over 30 years.

We coach it.

As always,

Brian
