There was a pack of dogs, just hanging around and chewing the fat—as wild dogs in the desert might do when they are not playing poker.
All of a sudden one of the dogs—a feral greyhound—saw a rabbit. He took off.
The greyhound chased the rabbit while all the other dogs sat back and watched him. They didn't even try to pursue the rabbit at all.
As it turned out, the greyhound was faster than the rabbit, but he never caught the rabbit.
The rabbit got away. Just like it does at the track.
So when the greyhound got back to all of his doggie friends, the rest of the dogs had been talking amongst each other, as dogs do.
The shaggy one of the bunch said, “You couldn’t catch a dang rabbit! You're a dog. A greyhound even. Greyhounds are supposed to be rabbit hunters. What’s wrong with you?"
"I’ll tell you why I didn’t catch the rabbit," said the greyhound. "I learned a very important lesson today."
The other dogs looked interested. "Then what was the lesson?" one asked.
"See, I was running for my dinner," said the greyhound. "But that rusty looking rabbit … Well, she was running for her life.”
As always,
Brian
P.S. – We do have a couple of spots still available in our Inner Sphere. (Think of an “inner circle,” but with an extra dimension.) We launch in a couple weeks with our online “mastermind.”
At first, we're targeting writers and content creators who have something to say. A message for others.
The program will grow from there.
What is your why? What is it that keeps you running?
Maybe you don't even know…
Get on the list and let’s figure out if we’ll be the right group for you.
