Yesterday, we wrote about mental toughness. A reader wrote back:
"So simple. Yet we get in the way of ourselves ."
Pretty much.
I told him that I think of it this way, "I am my biggest competition."
It helps to write these things down. In front of me as I write, I have a chart with all sorts of quotes and little pieces of advice I've collected.
There's even a section that I've developed—my own thoughts and quotes. On one of the squares in the chart, I have this reminder:
I out-work everyone, particularly my competition.
My real competition is my own procrastination, negative thoughts, and comfort zone.
I create my own content my one way using my own thoughts, approach, and "peculiarities."
What other people think of me is none of my business.
On the adjacent square it says:
A message from me to most people (probably):
You will not out-work me.
It has nothing to do with elections.
Right now, I have 150 squares with stuff like that. Some of it more impactful.
In our coaching program, I give all this stuff away. And more.
For more on how we operate:
As always,
