I've detected a general sense of anxiety and unrest over the last couple of days. Some glee. Some bitterness. A ton of confusion. I wonder what could have triggered it? The changeover in the nation's capital has the Twittersphere humming, but to say that the confusion and unrest has nothing to do with Ohio State winning the college football playoffs would also be slightly disingenuous. Let's put it this way: A lot of folks are looking for answers, but the reality is that we may never find the answers we're looking for. When discussing entrepreneurship, we often talk about solving problems for others. What if there is no solution? Consider: If no solution, was there really a problem to begin with? All too often, things do not happen "for a reason." They just happen. Some of the people who ask you for advice will never take it. They may never really listen to you, either. Most of the people you encounter, won't give you what you need. Change is complicated, even when you know what you are doing. You can't really "save" people, particularly from themselves.
If you're like me and hate what the new 12-team college football playoff has done to destroy college football as we knew it … buckle up. And pay attention to the five bullet points above. Accept them and you will start to experience peace. It is a difficult challenge (particularly when it comes to college football).
