Feedback is the name of the game here. People tell me they like The Daily 3, where I have three points on which deserve some deeper attention. I’m changing it up a little bit today, however. What follows is The Daily 3 of a different sort—three somewhat random facts that don’t deserve much more attention. At least, immediately, they don’t. 1) Crows will hold grudges against their human enemies and people who harass them. 2) The cardinal is the state bird of 7 states, making it the most-honored state bird. Ironically, neither pro sports franchise called the Cardinals have a cardinal for the official state bird in the state they play in. Arizona (Cardinals – NFL) is represented by the cactus wren. Missouri (St. Louis Cardinals – National League) is represented by the Eastern Bluebird. The Western Meadowlark (Oregon’s state bird) is the next most represented official state bird with 6 states holding it in the highest esteem.
3) The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland. I read a good deal. I take notes. Sometimes I just come across these things on random internet searches. Either way, if you’re looking to find some books we recommend around here: As always, Brian |
