You want to make sure you can make money when you promote an affiliate program or product.
But how do you do that?
Yesterday, I told you a bit about the things you must do to build your blog into a business.
Again, I'm not talking about content and branding.
I'm talking about bottom line profits.
That means
1. You don't want to over-spend on promoting affiliate products
2. You want to have a better than even chance of getting your advertising money back when you do spend out
-or-
3. You just promote on your blog and don't spend any money for advertising.
I think #3 is just fine to do for most bloggers.
It's a slow way to proceed, but also a safe way.
What I do like about promoting only on your blog... and, of course, to your email list...
is that if people don't buy your offer, you lose nothing.
On the other hand, if they do buy it, and you see it being very popular, you can scale up your promotional campaign.
In other words, AFTER you see that the affiliate product you are promoting "has legs"...
THEN you can spend money promoting because you now have clear evidence that this will be a high converting (profitable) offer.
You're not spending your money first, you're using your blog and email list to TEST first.
So, do some testing.
Let me know how it's going, or how you might need some help at this.
Have a great Thursday!
Talk soon,
