On the 6th day of Christmas, I’m taking 15 minutes to... |
|
Have a toss-out spree!
The challenge today is really simple, potentially fun and could involve other members of your family.
|
| Get Into Action! - Set a kitchen timer or an alarm on your phone for 10 minutes.
- Create two piles. Rubbish and recycling.
- Spend 10 minutes rushing through the room, or several rooms, making split-second decisions about things to toss out or recycle. No agonising over what to keep. Just pile everything up.
- In the remaining five minutes, finish the job. Bag up the rubbish and recycling and put it outside.
The point of this task is to demonstrate how much can be accomplished in a short space of time, when we don’t procrastinate. It’s also about following right through to the conclusion of a job, rather than leaving things hanging, which can annoy us.

Once a Week Challenge...
Keep on top of clutter by bringing in a regular family challenge: Seven on Sunday.
Every Sunday, each family member tosses 7 items into a garbage bag. (They soon learn that a quick decision is a good decision and can accomplish this in about a minute!) You might like to have two different coloured bags - one for garbage, one for donations (and maybe one for selling). |

What's Coming Up:
Come back tomorrow for a 15-minute challenge in the area of ‘fun and recreation’! |
